SWF text quality

Post by Sares » Fri Jan 30, 2009 2:52 pm

Hi,

when converting a PDF to a SWF the quality of the generated text is not that good
and the SWF doubles size (200kB PDF, 470kB SWF!).

It looks likes that the text within the SWF is not vector-based anymore after the
conversion. Instead it's more like a rough graphic and the text is not anti-aliased.
Not necessary to tell that the PDF is of perfect quality...

Any ideas what happens?

Thanks!

It may happen that text is indeed not represented as text after printing your PDF document with Adobe Reader. You may check this if you try to select text with mouse using Select Text tool: if text can't be selected, it means this text was sent to Print2Flash Printer as images rather than text. As image represenation of information usually takes much more space than text representation , this might be the reason of increasing of file size. Besides, the minimal Print2Flash document file size is around 70 Kb as this is how much the document template occupies: the toolbar, scrollbars, toolbar support code, Document API support, etc. Also please see this forum topic for more information: http://print2flash.com/forum/viewtopic. ... =161&p=367
