Document Options Window

Document Options window allows to setup several parameters before printing a document to Print2Flash printer.

This window can be shown automatically before each printing. To enable such a behavior, open Default Document Options Window and check "Show this dialog before each printing" option.

Interface Options group

The upper group of controls in Document Options window lets you customize which buttons or controls will appear on the toolbar of the converted document. It has a number of checkboxes, each checkbox corresponding to a single button or control that may appear on the toolbar. You need to check only those options that correspond to the buttons and controls you want to see in the converted document.

Additional controls in this group are:

  • Language - language to use for document interface. Currently this option affect toolbar hints language. Auto option means that language is chosen automatically based on the user's operating system language;
  • Color - allows you to adjust colors of document toolbar buttons and controls to a certain degree. You may pick one of predefined color sets from the list or click Tune Color button to open Tune Color window where you can adjust colors to a finer degree.

Protection Options group

The bottom group of controls in Document Options window lets you protect the converted document from certain operations that can be done to it by document viewers. There are three options there:

Optimization Options group

The controls in this group lets you configure converted document optimization and compatibility options:

  • Compatibility - here you can specify which minimum Flash Player version your converted document needs to support. The smaller version options provide better compatibility in case a lower version player is installed on viewing user's system. The higher version options, on the other hand, tend to provide a better document size and performance optimization because newer Flash Player version features may be used;
  • Use JPEG compression - by enabling this option some of the images in your document are compressed using JPEG compression algorithm. Using JPEG significantly reduces the size required for image storage and hence - the overall document size. Not all images are reasonable to compress to JPEG and Print2Flash decides on whether to compress images using JPEG automatically depending on image characteristics. When this option is off, no images are compressed with JPEG algorithm. The Quality option detailed below further controls the parameters of JPEG compression;
  • Quality - controls the quality of the resulting JPEG images if JPEG compression is turned on. The quality can be expressed as a number between 1 and 100, the higher numbers meaning better quality and bigger storage size and vice versa. You can enter this numeric value directly in the right-hand edit field or you can a select a predefined quality level from the left-hand drop down list.

The two bottom checkboxes control appearance and functionality of Document Options Window itself:

  • "Show this dialog before each printing" - clear this checkbox to disable showing of Document Options window before each printing in the future. To enable it back, open Default Document Options Window and check "Show this dialog before each printing" option;
  • "Save these options as default" - saves the options selected in this dialog as default. This means that options you selected in this dialog will apply not only to the current document but to other documents printed in the future.
